While looking for pictures chronicling Nathan's "Decade of Greatness", I came across this photo from our family trip to Monterrey in 2000. I love the squished smiles. Yes, I still feel like the odd-man out as the only non-scuba diver and now only non-scuba diving couple in the family. Some day. Do you guys remember this trip? It also reminds of another earlier trip to Monterrey way back in the stone ages before cell phones--I remember Doug calling Charmayne from the payphone every time we ate at Denny's.
Here's another unmasked picture to contrast the squished smiles with. Doesn't Bob look equally thrilled in both pictures? While studying the scuba divers, Nathan asked me, "Who's the one who looks like he wants to kill someone?"
All I remember about that scuba diving trip is that visibility was bad and we lost Dave for a while and I completely freaked out. Sorry everybody!

ReplyDeleteDoug and I were married in 97 and Rich and Lisa were in 98. This was the trip in 2000 I remember watching Marlee playing on the rocks. I have lots of pics of Doug trying to get his suit on. I so remember Dave not surfacing and freaking out inside wondering what was going on. I would love to dive with the whole Bowling crew but not in Monterey Bay! I'm a warm water girl. Do you remember my first trip with you guys to Monterey in 98 when we all played games in the hotel rooms! lol Good times.
